Dialing plans

Postby OlleHal on Fri Sep 12, 2008 12:14 am

This would be nice as in my phonebook I use +46340 but my SIP server wants 00340 (0340 is the area code) so I want to replace +46 with 00 and +(anything else) with 000 so +1 would be 0001

The windows mobile actually does this already (dialingplan.xml) but then I get the wrong speaker (HTC Touch PRO).

Also it seems I get good sound to me but the other end say I sound wierd.. codec problem?

I have seen some topics about the WM VoIP dialplan and think that this feature would definitely be nice to have for AGEphone Mobile. We have a wizard for AGEphone Desktop that supports people creating their dialplan and I'll ask our programmers if they see any way to port this feature to our mobile softphone.

As for your audio problem, you can change the codec settings in the "sipd.conf" under "My Documents / My Phone Booth". Just search for "MediaTypes=3 0 8 101" which represents the different codecs and their priorities.

3 = GSM; optional
0 = G.711 ulaw; optional
8 = H.711 alaw; optional
101 = DTMF setting; mandatory!

As you can see, GSM come first and will be priorized if AGEphone and the server negotiate correctly. Please delete two of the entries in order to enforce the remaining codec. Please note that this will make your calls fail if AGEphone and your provider can't settle on this codec.

One other possibility that you might want to check out first: If you take a look at page 3 of your SIP account settings there is an option called "Audio Packet Size". Depending on your 3G provider it might be worth to play with the sizes a bit (the best choice is usually between 20 - 40 ms).
