FAQ

1. Is it possible to redirect calls to the internal speaker (earpiece)?

Yes and no: For now there is only support for certain HTC Trinity, Hermes, Touch (Dual), Kaiser and Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 ROMs, but we plan to gradually extend this functionality until we cover every relevant Windows Mobile 5 / 6 device so that nobody ever needs to look back to normal calls! After starting the program just make sure you go to "6. Interface" (page 2) in the settings to get the reroute function activated. Please always make sure that your data is backed up when testing the option for the first time as the feature is experimental and may lock up your device to the point where it needs a hard reset. Regardless whether or not speaker switching works on your device, please attach your basic log file to the thread so the we can improve the functionality for everyone. The log option can be found under "Menu - About - More...". Just press "Save" and the program informs you where you can find the "Info.txt" it created. Afterwards, you can trim the file down to Hardware Information, System Information and Driver Enumeration as shown here. Happy logging!

2. Does AGEphone Mobile support Bluetooth headsets?

There is no official support for Bluetooth Headsets yet, but you can make most of them work with AGEphone using a little hack. There is no need to change the audio device in the audio settings for this to work at the moment. You only have to use a little tool called "BTAudioToggle.exe". For further information about this utility, please refer to this thread. The package you can download there contains "BTAudioOn.exe" / "BTAudioOff.exe", but using "BTAudioToggle.exe" does the job just fine. Once you have downloaded the utility, please go to "Settings - Other" and enter the path to the "BTAudioToggle.exe" file there under "Execute on Connect" and "Execute on Disc." without any further parameters. If your BT headset is paired properly with your phone AGEphone will automatically switch output and input to the device whenever you accept a call. It's probably of note that "BTAudioToggle.exe" only works with the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack.

Also, if you want to use voice command, the above tool won't work. In that case, please take a look at this tool which should be just right for your case.

3.1 Even though I entered my serial number AGEphone Mobile shows "Not registered". Why so?

This "Not registered" actually doesn't indicate that the serial code is missing or erroneous but rather informs you that there is something wrong with your provider configuration or network setup. Please make sure that AGEphone Mobile reports UPnP, Open NAT, Cone NAT or Port Restricted NAT if you use WLAN and have set "STUN / UPnP" in the network configuration. Depending on your mobile (3G) provider you might have to set that option to "Local IP" to be able to make a connection. After ensuring that your network configuration is not at fault please double check your provider data. If AGEphone still doesn't connect please feel free to ask around in the according board sections or post a bug report after reading the sticky in that forum.

3.2 Even though I entered my serial number AGEphone Mobile shows "Blocked". Why so?

The answer is nearly the same as in 3a: "Blocked" doesn't refer to your serial number being wrong or amiss but rather indicates that AGEphone cannot connect to your VoIP provider with your current internet connection. This might be due to an overzealous network firewall, multiple routers behind each other in your network setup or even your internet provider blocking VoIP traffic. If you can, please test AGEphone Mobile in another network to verify this. If you let us see your log files we can help you finding the cause of the problem and (hopefully) a remedy for it.
