HTC Touch Pro incompatible with the AGEphone Mobile

Postby radiototal on Fri May 29, 2009 9:58 am

I have this program from long time but I finally decide to write in the blog to see how we can find a solution to improve this program .

The story is like this ...Last year I've been extremly happy when I heard finally 1st company in the world is resolving the issue of the audio signal instead to go on the external speaker , it was suppose to to on internal speaker .
Been proud a Sprint customer with unlimited Hi-speed internet I decide to buy this program and to install in my HTC - PPC6700SP on that time the brand been own by the AudioVox. Anyway , after I install the program I was amazed about the great sound quality and short delay ... was almost normal like a regular phone line but the audio signal was still over the external speaker. In the mean time reading some blogs online I update my cell phone to HTC Titan ( on Sprint network called PPC6800 ) and I reinstall the program on the new phone. Same problem like the preview phone ...good signal in/out but still over the external speaker. On that time I decide to write an email to the Tech from Ageet.com . Very nice told me I need to upgrade my Cell phone because actually the program is compatible with "The Touch" on sprint network called also PPC6900 . I spend some money and I upgrade again my cell phone to the new version I reload the AEGphone on the new phone and finally I got the audio signal like was in description but I was able to hear people perfect but nobody was able to hear me ...like the microphone was damage like the voice was cut off , very choppy. ... Again I was very sad ....I was trying to understand why with 2 previews models of the same brand of HTC the signal was so great even if it was over the speaker phone and with new version was worse and bad signal.
Anyway in the mean time I download skype and for a wile I try to forget about this program . After 3 month I jump to the next level . I got me the lasted model of HTC called Touch Pro ... I got the program reload on my new phone ... I was amazed... even worse then the preview phone .... I couldn't bealived it.
ISn't the technology works like this ...we get gadgets on the market to improve the technologies not to make it worse ! ?

So at the end I got my answer ...actually the program is total NON-Compatible with HTC series PPC-6800 ; PPC6900 ; The Diamond and The Touch Pro.
The only perfect compatible PDA phone is the PPC6700 but is not working on the handset like was described .

Also please do not try to blame on the the Sprint Network because the speed of the internet on my cell phone testspeed.net is download 2.4MB/s and upload is 412kb/s . On Wi-Fi also I have download 8..66MB/s and upload 3.2MB/s.

Any solutions ???

Thank you for taking your time for this very detailed feedback. As it happens I got my hands on the DoCoMo version of the HTC Touch Diamond and Pro today and guess what, it worked like a charm! This pretty much leaves only one conclusion: The speaker switch function is not compatible with your current ROM; sometimes it does not work at all in such cases, sometimes just the microphone doesn't work. If you have the chance, please try one of the alternative ROMs and see if it works better with those.

I am not sure about the quality issues that some people report for the Diamond and Pro, but as a first step please raise the audio buffers a notch or two and see if it mends or fixes the problem. Also, please make sure that the Audio Packet Size setting on page 3 of the provider settings is set to 20 ms and if it is already, try to set it to 40 and see if it makes things better (or even worse). Also, could you please tell me which 3rd party software you have installed that is running at the same time as AGEphone Mobile?

Setting it to 600 ms might be a bit much though as it probably introduces one hell of a delay into your calls. Try and see if values below 300 ms have the same effect which should be a much better tradeoff between quality and latency.
