While web browsing and some other programs do work over the Active Sync, AGEphone Mobile and the SIP protocol are unfortunately too complex for this simple and very limited connection. Our programmers said that there is nothing we can do about this and even if there was a way the gain of having AM work over AS might not be worth the effort. Wherever you have Active Sync, a Wifi (infrastructure or ad-hoc) or Bluetooth connection usually isn't far and mobile internet tariffs are getting cheaper all the time. If you use Wifi or 3G while connecting your device with AS, please make sure to select their respective IP as AM sometimes picks the wrong network interface in these cases. I'm very sorry that we can't do more for you at this point and hope that you can get AGEphone Mobile to work using one of the other methods.

Thanks for your fast support!
I've just purchased the mobile version anyway, to use my mobile as "phone house", in fact it will be nice if I can left the phone on usb computer/activesync to reload battery and sync operation and voip ...
but wireless is shutdown when activesync is in action and my operator block voip over 3G ... so I use wifi to voip and sometimes disconnect it to usb to sync operations ...
Keep up good work ! and good luck to implement voice cancellation ...

It's always sad when operators feel the need to protect themselves from their own customers with "features" like that. I was surprised that Docomo resorts to the same kind of tactics here in Japan and they even went one step farther and also disabled the possibility to use Wifi and 3G at the same time. I wouldn't even consider to buy a phone that's been crippled like that. Unfortunately, we don't always have the luxury of knowing beforehand...

What I can recommend you is just disabling Active Sync on the PC or Phone side and if still shuts the Wifi down even then to get a power plug to USB converter. They don't cost the world and do exactly what you are looking for: Charge your phone while you are using Wifi; unless your carrier chose to disable Wifi as soon as something is plugged into the USB port in which case you're out of options. If it works, using your (any) PC's USB port is probably still more convenient, but power plugs are not that rare either :-)

As a nice side-effect, you also get faster charging as a lot of these adapters can output more than the 500mAh your average USB port maxes out with. It's easier on the battery, too because trickle charging while using the phone can make the battery wear out much faster than you would like. I've seen that with the 3400mAh Mugen Power battery in my EM-ONE which I usually use as a modem for my PC. The battery doesn't provide me with power for more than 2H these days because I always kept the device connected to the USB port.
